Long-Range Planning Committee Process
In March 2018, a meeting was held at Liberty Schools, with the support of Illinois Association of School Boards staff to discuss the long-term needs of the school district, establish strategic goals, develop cohesive Mission and Vision Statements, and identify areas where attention should be directed. This meeting was open to the community and attracted about 50 people from the school community - residents, parents, staff, and students.
An outline of the event goals and process is linked here.
As a result of this effort, several small committees were formed for the purpose of focusing on addressing specific areas of concern. Each committee will have at least one board member, admin staff member, and district employee. Most committees meet periodically in the evening at the school but some will hold virtual meetings in the interest of respecting time commitments and encouraging participation.

This group was spawned from the Facilities committee in late 2019. Unfortunately, the COVID pandemic put a temporary halt to this committee’s activities due to the economic downturn which made soliciting vendor bids or quotes difficult.
