Good Morning Liberty!
January 22, 2018
Students:
Tomorrow, Tuesday January 23 – junk food day in the concession stand
HS Students –
If you are bringing a date to the Homecoming dance that does not attend LHS, you must have a completed dance request form on file in the HS office. If you have questions stop by and ask Cathy.
PIZZA- HS students will be able to order pizza for lunch on homecoming decorating day ( February 2 ). Pizza will be $1 per slice or $8 per pizza. You will be given an order form in your English class on January 25. Completed forms and money will be due on January 26. The concession stand will be open on decorating day too.
I would like to schedule Wednesday, February 7 for Winter Sports Picture Day for the high school and junior high. Does this date conflict with any one? Will there be any classes, sports, or clubs gone that day? It is a small group so we should be done by 10:00 at the latest.
The following groups will have their pictures taken:
High School
Girls Basketball
Boys Basketball
Cheerleading
Pep Band
Quiz Bowl
Student Council
Junior High
Volleyball
Quiz Bowl
If I have missed your club or sport and you did not get pictures taken during the Fall Picture Day, please let me know.
High School Softball, Baseball, and Track will be taken later in the Spring.
9th-12th - Kaleb Smith from Quincy Vocational Center will be here on Tuesday, January 23 to talk about career training programs that could be available to you during your Junior and Senior years through Quincy. He will be presenting during third hour in Mrs. Meyer’s career class.
Also, on Thursday January 25th, Blessing Health Systems will be here during the same third hour class to present on health careers.
If you wish to sit in on one of these sessions, and if your third hour teacher allow you to, you may sign up with Mrs. Meyer’s by the end of the day on Monday. Students will need passes from their third hour teachers to show that you have permission to be there. (The vocational center will be back out sometime in the Spring to present during a lunch time as well, so if you cannot make that particular session but are interested in the voc. tech., there will be another chance in the future to get more information.)
The theme for Homecoming 2018 is TV shows.
Class meetings will be held during lunch in Mrs. Miller’s room
Freshmen – January 22
Sophomores: The regional sophomore career fair has been scheduled for February 2nd, which is our homecoming decorating day, so we unfortunately won’t be able to attend this year. I have spoken to the organizers of the career fair and they have agreed to let us bring both sophomores and juniors next year to the career fair so that you will still be able to go to this event and participate in the exploration of various career pathways. If you have any questions please see Mr. Adams.
Seniors: The Patricia & Leonard Kramer Memorial Scholarship application from Altrusa International of Quincy is available in Mr. Adams’ office. To be eligible for this scholarship you need to have a 2.8 minimum GPA and be active in school and or community service. Due March 15th, 2018.
