Students:
Sophomores and Juniors: If you are planning on taking a dual-enrollment course next year, remember to sign up with Mr. Adams to take the Accuplacer test at JWCC on March 16th.
Seniors – Class meeting on Friday, March 2 during lunch.
Student Council needs volunteers to work the Daddy Daughter/Mommy Son Royal Ball Dance. There is a sing up sheet in the office or talk to Miss. Callahan or Mason Tate. The dance is March in the small gym.
Donkey basketball is coming to Payson High School on March 17 at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Advance tickets are available at all Payson school offices, Payson Fastop, the Payson branches of FBL and SSB or by calling 656-3323.
Quincy Vocational technical center has rescheduled their lunch visit that was missed last week due to a snow day. They will be here next Wednesday, March 7th over the lunch hour in Mr. Mayfield’s room. This info session will be an opportunity to learn about extra class options that you could possibly take as a Junior/Senior at Quincy, including welding, auto tech, engineering, and CNA classes, to name a few. Please sign up with Mr. Adams and he will give you a front of the lunch line pass for that day.
Seniors: A $1500 scholarship is available through Compeer Financial. This scholarship is for seniors attending college or community/technical college next year. Eligible applications will have a 3.0 GPA and have a designated agriculture major or interest in an agriculture-related field, or have an agricultural or rural background. Due date is March 16th, application is in Mr. Adams’ office.
Seniors: The Quincy Service League Scholarship is due on April 1st. This $1000 scholarship is awarded to an Adams county senior who wishes to purse college and/or vocational/technical training. Applicants will be evaluated in terms of their community service, educational merit, and financial need. You can pick up an application in Mr. Adams’ office.
Junior High Quiz Bowl reminder: You need to pay for your t-shirt - $18 - by Friday. See Miss Jackson.
Seniors – Jostens will deliver your graduation items on March 6. It’s about to get real!!!! J Enjoy every minute!!!!!
Forms available in the office for the Meals on Wheels West Central Illinois 5K Run/Walk. The Run/Walk will be on March 31, rain or shine!!!!
The Yearbook class is dedicating 2 pages to Chandler Clinging. This is the year Chandler would have graduated. If anyone has any pictures growing up with him, please bring or email them to a yearbook student or Mrs. McCleary. We will scan the pictures and use them in the yearbook and for Baccalaureate. Chandler's parents are aware we are doing this and will also be sending in pictures.
